The Interscholastic Equestrian Association is a nonprofit organization that promotes equestrian sports for those in grades 4-12, AND 21 and over through a unique format. It fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and horsemanship through regular season competitions, regional and zone finals, and national events, while also offering educational programs like the National Hippology Academy, college scholarships, and opportunities for leadership and participation in three disciplines:
Hunt Seat, Western, and Dressage.
During the IEA Season, riders participate in shows a team format where they are assigned a horse by draw for the class they enter, ensuring fair competition and removing the need to own a horse. Teams accumulate points based on their riders' placings, with a team-designated "point rider" for each class. Teams earn points to qualify for regional finals, which can lead to zone finals, and eventually, the IEA National Finals. IEA shows run Saturday and/or Sunday, and riders compete in two classes per day, up to 5 shows per season.
Remington Farm is proud to be the new home of Glory Days Equestrian, one of four Hunt-Seat IEA Teams in Washington State. Owned and operated by Anna Steinle, the team is proud to be on their 5th season of IEA and have had nationally qualifying riders for the past two years.
The Glory Days IEA Team is a fun group of equestrians who enjoy more of a team-focused community for an otherwise individualized sport, who encourage and support one another during the show season. The team travels to shows together, always has a team dinner, and makes lots of fun memories together!
No rider needs to own their own horse in order to participate, and riders are placed in a level suitable for riding an unfamiliar horse. Even those who aren’t interested in the competitive side of IEA can enjoy riding unfamiliar horses to test their skills and advance their knowledge of the sport.
Glory Days IEA team is open to any rider in an approved hunt seat program who takes lessons twice per week or more.
