Academy FAQ'S

What is the difference between enrolling in the academy and booking an intro lesson?

All students should book an Introductory Lesson so we can assess their horse handling and riding skills, match them with a lesson horse and an instructor appropriate for their level, and get them set up with a coupon for necessary riding gear.

Once students have attended their Intro Lesson, they can enroll in our Academy program, choosing how many days a week they would like to ride.

What disciplines do you teach?

We teach a variety of disciplines, including:

Dressage (English and Western)

Jumping (Hunt Seat, Jumpers, and Eventing)

Western Trail (Arena and Outdoor)

Horse Management (Classroom)

Groundwork Skills

Our curriculum reflects the multi-discipline approach of Pony Club, giving students a well-rounded foundation.

Where can I purchase riding gear?

Local businesses that can help you find gear for your lessons are Coastal and Wilco.

Gift Horse Saddlery in Woodinville offers a one-time 10% off coupon for New Riders. Talk to your Instructor at your Intro Lesson to receive your coupon!

Do you offer make-up lessons?

Due to our strict schedule, we have limited availability to make-up a lesson if a student misses. We have a structured make-up policy to help accommodate missed lessons.

You can learn more about our policies at your Intro Lesson and get a copy of our Terms & Conditions and Policies to review in your Enrollment Packet.

What barn etiquette should I know before coming to the Farm?

Within your Release of Liability and Hold Harmless paperwork, we have a general Barn Rules document that you will need to review and sign. This will go over things like:

No running in the barn

No feeding horses

No smoking

Clean up after yourself

Be kind to everyone,

And so on.

How does the Online Classroom work?

When students enroll in our Academy, they are signed up for our online Classroom for their curriculum level. It is a self-paced educational system, allowing students to sign in and view tons of online resources, videos and articles, and can complete the assignments, projects, and quizzes.

Some of the prerequisites for hands-on lessons, other requirements to pass a curriculum level, and advance to the next level are done online via this classroom. So this is an important component of our curriculum, and shouldn't be ignored.

When can I change my Monthly Tuition plan?

Enrolled students can upgrade their monthly tuition plan at any time! All you have to do is notify us at [email protected] of your request, and which tuition plan you would like to continue with, and our staff will change your billing in the next payment cycle and coordinate appointment times for weekly recurring lessons.

Students will finish out the current month in their previous tuition tier, and then start their new lesson schedule once the next payment cycle goes through.

To cancel your monthly tuition plan, please email us at [email protected]. We have a 60-day cancellation policy, meaning that from the date we are notified in writing, you will be charged in the next two payment cycles before your subscription is fully cancelled. Students can continue taking their regularly scheduled lessons throughout their 60-day cancellation period.
